The HVR-M35U supports Sony’s new Native Progressive format recording. The HVR-M35U records and plays back HDV 1080i60, 1080i50, 1080p30, 1080p25, 1080p24, and DV/DVCAM 480i60, 576i50. Like the HVR-M25U, the new HVR-M35U is NTSC / PAL switchable. The HVR-M35U also offers 4CH audio recording and playback, and can record HDV 4CH audio signals from the i.LINK input. Additionally, the HVR-M35U offers an integral monaural speaker for convenient audio monitoring, capable of playing back a mixed audio signal. The HVR-M35U also offers various digital interfaces which include i.LINK for DV/DVCAM and HDV I/O, a dual function HD/SD SDI output connector, as well as AES/EBU BNC connectors. TC OUT is also supplied via a BNC connector. In addition to it’s compact design, other features this new deck shares with the HVR-M25U is a ClearPhoto LCD plus 2.7-inch (viewable area, measured diagonally) 16:9 panel for video monitoring, as well as support of both mini and standard size video tape cassettes. The HVR-M35U also incorporates the Duplicate Plus feature for operational convenience similar to that offered in the HVR-M25U, with the added integration of the new Native Progressive recording formats. Like the HVR-M25U, the new HVR-M35U also offers 1080i to 720p conversion capabilities (through the analog component and SDI outputs only), as well as HD to SD downconversion.
The HVR-1500A Digital HD Videocassette Recorder is the successor to the HVR-1500. In addition to its robust functionality, HD-SDI input is pre-installed on the HVR-1500A. As an HDV™ source feeder/recorder the HVR-1500A is positioned as the high-end HDV deck in Sony’s HVR series. Inheriting the design concept of the market-acclaimed DSR-1500A, the HVR-1500A offers the same convenient features that professional users demand, such as quick mechanical response, multi-format DV playback, and a rich set of professional audio/video interfaces ranging from analog to SDI and AES/EBU. Additionally, the HVR-1500A offers HD-SDI input/output and RS-422A control capabilities, bridging HDV source material and assets with high-end HD formats and HD editing environments. With the optional HVBK-1520 board installed, the HVR-1500A has a wide range of capabilities such as up-converting DV recordings to 1080i or 720p signals and cross-convert 1080i HDV recordings to 720p signals. This allows operators to integrate DV and HDV source footage and assets into the same HD editing system and gives them the flexibility to choose between either a 1080i or 720p system.

The PDW-U1 is a compact, mobile and highly cost-effective drive for use with PC’s. This drive is suitable not only for use with nonlinear editing systems but also for simple viewing and logging operations with a lap-top or desk top computer. It can handle Professional Disc media (PFD23A) recorded in both HD and SD formats, as well as the new “dual-layer” disc (PFD50DLA). The PDW-U1 uses a USB 2.0 interface which is the most widely available interface in the IT world. Simply connect the PDW-U1 to the computer and it will show as an external drive on the screen. XDCAM HD decks are highly versatile and can be used for many different applications including HD video recording, linear/nonlinear editing, and presentations at large exhibitions and conference venues. The PDW-F75 XDCAM is highly flexible and can record in both MPEG HD and DVCAM formats. It is capable of recording 1080 video lines of multiple frame rates at a high bit rate of up to 35 Mbps on Professional Disc media. It also provides four channels of high quality uncompressed audio. The PDW-F75 deck records and plays Professional Disc with HD material at 1080/59.94i, 50i, 29.97P, 25P and native 23.98P using the “MPEG HD” codec that uses the industry standard MPEG-2 MP@HL compression. And for high quality sound, four channel, 16 bit, 48 kHz uncompressed audio is used. The deck also can down-convert MPEG HD material to DV signals and outputs via the i.LINK interface. The PDW-F75 also features a built-in Up/Down-conversion to up-convert DVCAM material to HD signals and output via HD-SDI or HD analog component connection as well as to down-convert MPEG HD material to SD SDI or composite connection. It supports Jog/Variable operation with +/- 1 times normal speed and Shuttle with +/- 20 times normal speed even adopting MPEG Long GOP.
